A practical training session for potential applicants to the CrossEco Small Projects Fund competition was held in Lutsk

The event was attended by representatives of local communities, educational institutions, civil society organizations, environmental agencies, and local government bodies interested in establishing joint Ukrainian-Polish environmental initiatives.

Special attention was given to issues of cross-border cooperation, as partnership between Ukrainian and Polish organizations is one of the key requirements for participating in the competition.

During the meeting, Nataliia Strelbitska, head of the Project Management Department at the Regional Development Agency in Ternopil Oblast, emphasized that a high-quality application is not just a correctly filled-out form, but above all a clear project rationale, a tangible cross-border impact, and shared responsibility among partners for the outcome.

“A successful project starts with an idea that addresses the real needs of communities on both sides of the border. That is why it is important not just to find a partner, but to develop a shared vision and achieve tangible results that will continue even after the project is completed.”

Orest Sorokopud, Director of the Volyn Regional Development Agency, also addressed the training participants. He emphasized the importance of active participation by communities and organizations in the development of cross-border cooperation and the implementation of environmental initiatives in border regions.

He also noted that the Agency is a partner in the project and is ready to provide potential applicants with advisory support at all stages of preparing project proposals.
