A training session was held in Lublin as part of the Interreg NEXT Program for potential applicants to the Small Projects Fund competition

On May 20, a practical training session was held in Lublin for potential applicants to the CrossEco Small Projects Fund competition under the Interreg NEXT Poland–Ukraine Program 2021–2027.

Training participants had the opportunity to examine in detail the practical aspects of preparing a project proposal, discuss the specifics of budgeting, and get answers to their questions about participating in the CrossEco competition.

During the meeting, many questions were raised specifically regarding the budgetary aspects of the project, the preparation of cost estimates, and the practical aspects of funding small projects.
As a reminder, under the call for proposals, Program funding may cover up to 90% of the project’s eligible costs, while partners must provide at least 10% in the form of their own contribution. The total budget of a small project cannot exceed €100,000, and the maximum amount of co-financing from the Program is €90,000.
The share of co-financing and own contribution within a small project must be equal for each partner. This means that all partners participate in the project’s financing at the same percentage rate.

The project budget is formulated based on each partner’s role, responsibilities, and level of involvement in the implementation of planned activities.
Another important aspect of project implementation is proper record-keeping and the partners’ readiness to undergo financial audits during the initiative’s implementation.
A well-prepared budget is not just about numbers, but also a clear understanding of the project’s logic, the partners’ roles, and realistic planning of all activities.Practical training sessions in Poland are ongoing and remain an important platform for developing Ukrainian-Polish cooperation, forging new partnerships, and preparing joint environmental initiatives.
