Ternopil Region is stepping up its export efforts: a survey of business needs has begun

Today, for many entrepreneurs in the region, expanding exports offers an opportunity to scale their businesses, enter new markets, and identify new avenues for growth—even amid ongoing challenges. At the same time, companies often face a lack of information about foreign markets, difficulties in finding partners, challenges with international certification, and limited access to practical support tools.

That is why, as part of the “Export Connect: Regional Export Support System” initiative—implemented by the Swiss-Ukrainian UCORD project in collaboration with the Office for Entrepreneurship and Export Development—we are launching a survey of entrepreneurs in the Ternopil region to better understand current business needs and develop a more effective export support system at the regional level.

The survey aims to learn more about:

• the challenges companies face when entering foreign markets
• business needs for training, consulting support, and market research
• Request for support regarding international certification, participation in trade shows, and partner search
• the development of cooperation between businesses, regional institutions, and business support organizations

The results obtained will help shape new programs to support exporters, educational opportunities for businesses, and a regional directory of exporters.

The survey is aimed at both companies that are already engaged in export activities and businesses that are just considering entering foreign markets or planning to resume exports.

The Regional Development and Investment Agency of Ternopil Oblast, the Ternopil Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Main Directorate of the State Service for Food Safety and Consumer Protection, the Ternopil Regional Military Administration, and the Diya.Business entrepreneur support center in Ternopil have joined the initiative in the region. The joint efforts of these regional partners will help create a more practical and coordinated business support system tailored to the needs of entrepreneurs in the Ternopil region.

The “Export Connect: Regional Export Support System” initiative is being implemented by the Swiss-Ukrainian project “Cohesion and Regional Development of Ukraine” (UCORD) in collaboration with the Office for Entrepreneurship and Export Development under a Memorandum of Cooperation. The UCORD project is being implemented with the support of Switzerland through the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation by NIRAS Sweden AB.
