A meeting was held at the Dniester Basin Water Resources Administration between ARTO expert on WASAW (waste management, water supply, and wastewater management) Leonid Bitsyura and the administration’s director, Yuriy Khodakovsky, and deputy director, Ivanna Hnatyshyn.

WASAW is an initiative aimed at implementing modern policies and solutions in the areas of water supply, wastewater management, and waste management. WASAW projects focus on strategic planning for water use and capacity building for communities and regions.

Among the objectives are helping stakeholders gain practical knowledge for strategic planning in the WASAW sector, improving the quality of investment proposals and projects, and so on.

During the meeting, participants discussed the progress of the measures outlined in the Dniester River Basin Management Plan, particularly within the Ternopil region, as well as ways to improve cooperation with local communities and relevant enterprises.

The meeting also addressed the status of initiatives in the areas of water supply and wastewater management, the operation of wastewater treatment facilities within the region, and the procedures for preparing projects for the reconstruction and construction of environmental facilities.

As a result of the working meeting, plans were made for cooperation within the framework of WASAW initiatives, specifically regarding the modernization of wastewater treatment plants, the development of local projects to improve water use, and the optimization of the operation of landfills and waste treatment facilities.
