UAH 27 Million from Switzerland for the Development of Chortkiv West Industrial Park

A project to develop water supply and sewerage infrastructure for the Chortkiv West Industrial Park has been launched. It is being implemented with the participation of the Ternopil Regional Development Agency, in partnership with the UCORD project, Chortkiv City Council, and Municipal Enterprise AMER of Chortkiv Hromada.

The funding is allocated for the construction of internal water supply networks, domestic sewerage, and fire suppression systems. This concerns essential engineering infrastructure without which the industrial park cannot function fully and attract manufacturing investors. Such solutions create the conditions for launching enterprises and generating new jobs in the community.

The project is part of the WAS Industrial Zones Infrastructure Grant Scheme, implemented within the Swiss-Ukrainian project “Cohesion and Regional Development of Ukraine,” UCORD, which is being carried out with the support of Switzerland by NIRAS Sweden AB.

The total budget is approximately 530,000 Swiss francs, of which up to 80% is grant funding and at least 20% is the community’s contribution.

The Ternopil Regional Development Agency serves as the project administrator. We will be responsible for coordinating implementation, ensuring compliance with grant program procedures, financial management, and reporting to the donor. A separate component will involve preparing a case study—an analytical document on the partnership model and tools for preparing an industrial facility for investment. This will enable the scaling of Chortkiv’s experience to other communities in the region and the country.

The project was selected based on an assessment of investment readiness and the potential economic impact of the facility, which is registered in the state registry of industrial parks. It aligns with the strategic development priorities of Ternopil Oblast and the socio-economic development of the Chortkiv community.

For us, this is an example of systematic work: the community formulates the request and co-finances the solution, the Agency helps prepare and support the project, and the international partner provides the resources for implementation. This three-way model—community, regional development institution, and donor—transforms the region’s strategy into tangible infrastructure.
