Kyiv hosted the National Forum on Sustainability and Good Governance, organized by the Ministry of Development of Communities and Territories of Ukraine, UNDP Ukraine, and the European Union within the framework of the flagship partnership EU4Recovery — Empowering Communities in Ukraine.
The forum became a nationwide platform for discussing reforms in local self-government and regional development in the context of war and European integration. This large-scale event brought together representatives of the state leadership, international partners, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, the Cabinet of Ministers, and local self-government bodies. This format provided an opportunity to carefully analyze common challenges, identify priorities for further action, strengthen the coordination of reform support instruments, and consolidate efforts to implement the principles of good governance.
One of the key topics was the issue of strengthening the institutional, economic, and social resilience of communities and the state in response to armed aggression. The focus was on mechanisms for continuity of governance, recovery, adaptation, and enhancing the capacity of local self-government to act in crisis situations. Iryna Skuratko, Director of the Regional Development Agency in Ternopil Region, took part in the Forum.
The event provided an opportunity to participate in professional discussions, exchange experiences with representatives of other regions and international partners, and obtain relevant best practices and tools that can be used to strengthen regional development and the sustainability of communities in the Ternopil region.
